Terms of use
Last updated 13 October 2026.
These terms apply to Buildworks Studio (this website, its editor and its library). By using the site you agree to them; by creating an account you also agree to our privacy notice.
What this is
Buildworks Studio is a free, non-commercial fan project by Elyon, the author of the Knox Buildworks mod, for planning Knox Buildworks blueprints in the browser and sharing them. It is not affiliated with or endorsed by The Indie Stone. Using blueprints in game requires Project Zomboid (Build 42) and the Knox Buildworks mod. Game sprites and icons shown here are © The Indie Stone and are used under its modding policy; they remain theirs and are not licensed to you by these terms.
Accounts
- You can use the editor without an account. To save, publish, like, comment or collect, sign in with Steam, Discord or (where offered) an email link. You must be at least 13 and old enough to use the service you sign in with.
- One person, one account. You may connect both Steam and Discord to it. Keep those accounts secure: you are responsible for what is done from your account. If you think someone else used it, use "Sign out everywhere" on your page and tell us.
- Your handle must not impersonate another person, creator or the staff, and must not be offensive. You can change it once every 30 days; your old handle keeps pointing to you and cannot be taken by someone else. Moderators may reset a handle, name or about text that breaks these rules.
Your blueprints and posts
- You keep ownership of the blueprints, descriptions, comments and collections you create.
- So the studio can work, you give us a free, worldwide, non-exclusive licence to store, copy, render (thumbnails and previews), display and deliver what you post, for as long as it is on the site, and as part of showing the site (for example, a staff pick on the home page). Deleting it ends that licence, except for copies others already downloaded and versions saved by co-editors.
- Visibility: private blueprints are visible only to you, your co-editors and moderators. Unlisted ones to anyone with the link. Public ones appear in the library and on your profile.
- By making a blueprint unlisted or public, you let other people view it, download it to use in their own game, and remix it on this site (a remix is a copy they own that links back to yours). If you do not want that, keep it private.
- Co-editors you add can save new versions of your blueprint. Versions they save stay part of its history. As the owner you decide visibility and can remove co-editors at any time.
- Only post what you made or have the right to share, and credit what you based a blueprint on. Owners can delete comments on their own blueprints.
Rules
Do not use the site to:
- post spam, scams, harassment, hate, threats, sexual content, or other people's personal information;
- post anything illegal or that infringes someone else's rights, or impersonate others;
- upload files meant to harm the site or its users, try to get around the upload checks, limits or permissions, or access accounts or data that are not yours;
- scrape the site in bulk, overload it, or run automated scanners or load tests against it (security research is welcome under the security policy);
- manipulate likes, downloads, reports or tags, for example with several accounts.
Reports and moderation
- Anyone signed in can report a blueprint, comment, collection, tag or account. Reports are seen only by staff.
- Moderators can hide blueprints and comments, edit or block tags, reset names and handles, and suspend accounts. Administrators can also delete content and accounts. A hidden blueprint tells its owner why. Every staff action is recorded.
- Suspended accounts can still sign in to download their data and delete themselves. If you think a decision was wrong, write to contact@elyonmods.com and we will look at it again.
- We may remove content or close accounts that break these terms, and we may remove content when the law requires it, without notice where necessary to protect others.
Copyright complaints
If you believe something on the site infringes your rights, write to contact@elyonmods.com with a link to it, what you believe it infringes, and how to reach you. We will review it and remove it if the complaint is valid, and tell the person who posted it.
Leaving
You can stop using the studio at any time. Download your data or delete your account from your page; the privacy notice explains what deletion removes.
Support and donations
The studio is free and has no paid features or ads. If you want to support its development, you can do so on Ko-fi. Donations are voluntary gifts: they do not buy features, priority or any special treatment, and are handled by Ko-fi under its own terms.
No warranty
The studio follows the mod's own rules, but a plan made here may still differ from what the game allows, especially after game or mod updates. The service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties, and may change, pause or end. Keep your own copies of blueprints you care about: the download button gives you the file the game reads.
Liability
As far as the law allows, we are not liable for lost blueprints, lost game progress or other indirect losses from using the studio. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, or your rights as a consumer.
Changes
We may update these terms; the date at the top shows the latest version. If a change matters for how you use the site, we will say so on the site before it applies. Continuing to use the site afterwards means you accept the new terms.
